About this role

What will you be responsible for?

Reporting to the Head, People, North America, the Human Resources Manager - Business Partner serves as the main point of contact for employees and managers, providing mentorship on the people management aspects of the business. The role proactively supports the delivery of HR programs and processes, as well as contributes to global projects to support operations within the business unit. The Human Resources Manager - Business Partner collaborates with site HR teams in North America and the enterprise HR team, including all HR Centers of Expertise organizations.

Your role will consist of:

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

Provide day-to-day HR solutions, counsel, and support to the business

Develop ongoing, key relationships as the primary HR contact for NA BU employees and managers

Drive the execution of HR programs, providing mentorship, coaching and facilitating information sessions as the need arises

Partner with leadership, enterprise HRBPs, and site HR Managers, to support workforce change initiatives, providing recommendations and executing changes

Liaise with Talent Management, lead the performance management process, which includes communication plans, training delivery, reporting, and trouble shooting

Support organizational planning and talent review processes for NA BU

Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to effectively integrate programs and policies across NA BU

Contribute to global projects, representing the region and ensuring local context is considered in program design

Support the recruiting process for sophisticated hiring scenarios in Canada

Partner with the HR Service Center to execute HR programs and services

Measure employee engagement and lead initiatives to improve NA BU employee experience

Manage domestic relocations

Supervise onboarding and offboarding programs, including analysis of exit data

Support data requests from the business

Compiles and analyzes human capital data to assist in business decisions, critical discussions, and continuous improvement

Manage employee data change requests in the HRIS

Your training, skills, and experience checklist:

Knowledge:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

Solid knowledge of general employment laws and policy development

Knowledge of multiple HR subject areas

Experience:

5-7 years of previous experience in Human Resources

Experience with facilities management

Employee relations experience and basic investigation skills are required

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to document processes and policies and recommend changes to a variety of partners with contending priorities/interests

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

Attention to detail and complete follow through required. Able to optimally multi-task and deal with multiple deadlines and priorities

Values diversity, accepts differences, listens and seeks to understand others’ points of view

Ability to establish and maintain strong peer relationships and to effectively partner with the organization

Ability to influence others by establishing trust and credibility

Ability to mentor and counsel managers, inclusive of finding solutions that balance the needs of Newmont overall with the needs of the individual

Working Conditions

The position is based in Newmont’s Vancouver office working 3-4 days on-site with flexibility to work remote on other days

This role may be required to travel to other Newmont locations within the business unit, and the Denver head office

The expected salary range for this role is CAD $ 126,100 - 149,720 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
