Summary:
This position is responsible for the General Ledger, accounting for transactional items including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, expense reporting and others. This position will also participate in the month-end closing process and preparation of financial statements in a timely and accurate manner while maintaining effective internal controls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job Responsibilities
Process workflow
Execute the monthly close process adhering to established timelines and requirements, such as the following: complete journal entries; record travel and expense entries; reconcile accounts and ensure adequate supporting documentation is maintained; and record and monitor accruals.
Prepare financial statements and monthly variance analysis comparing actuals to budget and forecast- General accounting practices.
General Accounting Practices
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing.
Sales/use tax reporting and account reconciliations.
Expense report processing.
Budgeting
Assist in preparation of the annual Budget and Strategic Planning initiatives.
Technology
Participate in the integration of new technologies impacting Accounting processes.
External Audit
Prepare information required to support external auditors and tax preparation (if required).
Reporting
Develop ad hoc reporting, as required, to support company initiatives.
Attendance
Attendance is an essential requirement for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
Experience
Minimum of two years’ experience in Accounting
Skills/Abilities
Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Experience with QuickBooks is preferable.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including a high level of proficiency with Excel.
Experience with payroll processes and procedures is preferred.
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work through complex issues in a timely manner.
Detail oriented leader willing to dive in and assist as required (especially while developing your team).
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Experience working in the video, film, or production industry preferable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Manual Dexterity
Sufficient manual dexterity to perform activities required under essential functions.
Frequent light grasping and fine motor tasks (50-75% of shift).
Coordination
Ability to perform gross body coordination and hand-eye coordination tasks without instability.
Mobility
Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, lift and move frequently during working hours.
Occasional standing (10-25%).
Occasional stair climbing and descending (up to 20% of shift).
Visual
Must be able to see or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately to assure that the essential functions of this position can be fully met.
Hearing
Must be able to hear or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately to assure that the essential functions of this position can be fully met.
Speech
Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
