Cleanroom Pharmacist

Job Description

SCA Pharmaceuticals, a rapidly growing company and nationwide leader in Outsourced Sterile IV Admixture products is immediately hiring to fill the position of 2nd shift Compounding Support Pharmacist for our Windsor, CT location.

NO HOLIDAYS, MINIMUM WEEKEND SHIFTS (Occasional 1-2 Saturdays/month)

General description of the job:

Perform specified pharmacy activities and techniques as they pertain to preparation of sterile products and distribution.

Job activities and responsibilities:

1. Adheres to organizational policy and procedures

2. Reviews, verifies, and coordinates new client orders through collaboration with client, marketing, and pharmacy technicians(s)

3. Coordinates and participates in the preparation of sterile admixtures, dispenses all pharmaceutical and related supplies in accordance with federal, state and local laws and standards of practice which govern the pharmacy profession

4. Assists in the supervision of pharmacy technicians

5. Maintains pharmacy records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations

6. Maintains clinical skills and knowledge by reviewing literature and attending seminars and conferences

7. Performs marketing support functions as necessary

8. Participates in orientation/training programs for new team members and current staff

9. Participates in department QA activities

10. Attends designated department meetings as scheduled

11. Performs other tasks or special projects as necessary

Minimum qualifications:

1. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy desirable)

2. Currently licensed as registered pharmacist in Connecticut

3. Have the ability to perform basic computer functions

4. Have the ability to work effectively with others as part of a team

5. Ability to problem solve and supervise technician(s) and other support staff

6. Possess good organizational and time management skills

7. Dependable in attendance and job performance

Physical requirements:

1. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and still maintain excellent service

2. Able to lift boxes and uncrate them in designated areas

3. Able to don sterile garments, and ensure cleanroom areas and related equipment are cleaned and maintained per organization’s proceduresCompany Description
