Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Responsible for general oversight, cleaning, stocking supplies, and minor repairs in all assigned office areas, including restrooms as needed. Responds to NY Administration facilities related requests in a timely and effective manner, and supports Administration projects as needed.

Perform general facilities maintenance tasks, including cleaning and sanitizing designated areas (i.e., dusting, vacuuming, mopping, wiping, etc)

Complete minor repairs.

Prepare conference rooms before and after important meetings, assist with setting up and breaking down rooms for events or meetings.

Clean all common areas including the kitchens, member lounge, reception area and employee lounge.

When applicable, place safety hazard signs (i.e., wet paint and wet floor warning).

Monitor, clean and service restrooms as needed.

Respond to any major spills or other cleaning crises.

Remove litter and rubbish from main common rooms.

Assist with ordering supplies required for facility maintenance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Extensive trouble-shooting and problem solving experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Superlative interpersonal skills: high degree of patience and tact. Must be able to cultivate respectful, strategic and collaborative relationships with people from diverse backgrounds both internally and externally.

Have an understanding and awareness of worker rights impacting SAG-AFTRA members.

Hold yourself and others accountable for a high level of performance and integrity.

Capable of taking direction from more than one supervisor.

Must be able to work in a challenging environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.

Proven proficiency with a highly detail oriented workload regarding account reconciliation.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such a level as is determined at SAG-AFTRA’s sole discretion.

Must be available and willing to work extended hours (and/or overtime for applicable non- exempt positions) per day or per week, including weekends and holidays, as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary to meet its business needs.

Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as SAG-AFTRA determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or relevant qualification required.

12 months porter experience.

Able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Must be reliable and professional.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
