The Artificial Perception and Threat Awareness (APTA) division at SARA is making the future of Aerospace and Autonomy happen now, with a charter to create new and emerging sensor perception technologies for Commercial & Military markets. Our innovative technologies include RF, optical and acoustic sensors enabled with innovative embedded algorithms, machine learning and robust networking.

SARA is looking for a remarkably talented, motivated, and experienced Aerospace Software Engineer to support activities out of our Cypress, CA location. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow and learn with talented engineers, physicists, and technicians on long-standing programs and new programs supporting our customers.

Core Responsibilities:

Design, implement, test, and certify RTCA DO-178C and RTCA DO-254 applications

Lead a team of programmers through the RTCA DO-178C and RTCA DO-254 certification process

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related technical field

5+ years’ experience creating distributed software applications

Ability to use C/C++ and GIT

Ability to create software designs, test software, and document results for DO-178C and DO-254 software

Ability to lead teams of software developers to create RTCA certified software products

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

US Citizenship required

May require light physical effort, involving standing, sitting and use of hands while performing duties, carrying or lifting up to 10 pounds

Working environment is indoor, moderately quiet, reasonably clean, well-lighted and well-ventilated

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree

10+ years’ experience creating DO-178C and DO-254 certified software

Ability to program in Matlab, LabVIEW, Julia, Python, and VHDL

Ability to design and create AWS/Azure cloud applications

Active DoD security clearance

Salary Range: $125,000 - $155,000
