The primary role of the Senior Manager is to oversee the design and implementation of an advertising and outreach strategy for NCCER’s Build Your Future (BYF) initiative. The goal of BYF is to be a nationally recognized resource for awareness and connection to careers in construction. The Senior Manager will design, implement, and manage outreach campaigns to shape positive perceptions about careers in the constructions industry, the benefits of careers in construction, and the advantages of pursuing a technical education track with the goal of attracting more people to the construction industry.

Areas of Responsibility:

1. Design a national digital outreach strategy to build the future pipeline of craft professionals.

Using new and emerging technologies, speak directly to individuals who may not be thinking about careers in construction

Through testimonials, industry professionals, and influencers share the impact construction has on communities and individuals

Develop engaging campaigns to diversify message reach beyond traditional audiences

2. Inform, engage, and educate students, parents, and educators on the benefits and opportunities of careers in construction foster connections to education and industry.

Collaborate with the director to develop a targeted action plan to reach students, parents, and educators

Develop messaging and collaborate on media to share the benefits of careers in construction, economic opportunities, and positive social impact

Work with other departments to ensure the execution of projects and objectives

Refine and redeploy digital ad campaigns informed by ongoing analysis of metrics

Work with the project leads overseeing CareerStarter and Hard Hat Heroes to ensure synergy in marketing efforts and appropriate segmentation of messaging and ads

3. Connect with organization and education leaders to build synergistic partnerships to advance this mission of NCCER and goals of BYF.

Manage departmental agreements, processes and procedures for partnerships with industry, education, and related associations

Explore new partnership opportunities and act as the primary point of contact to analyze and meet partnership needs

4. Provide direct supervision, guidance and evaluation of team members

Collaborate with senior managers to ensure that projects are functioning smoothly across teams

Provide in-depth knowledge of project goals and planning

Conduct regular employee evaluations providing feedback, professional development, and guidance as deemed necessary by performance

5. Maintain the initiative’s brand identity and provide direction for promotions that increase overall brand awareness

Oversee content across websites and promotions

Collaborate with the marketing department to develop articles, blogs, emails, best practices, videos and press releases supporting the initiative

Assess current competitor offerings, seeking opportunities for differentiation

6. Attend and present on behalf of the organization and initiative at events, conferences and meetings as requested

7. Drive the Build Your Future scholarship program

Lead the development of scholarships with partners

Oversee scholarship management and tracking

Monitor and report on program success

8. Manage initiative budget in collaboration with philanthropy and partnerships director

Manage team resources to ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget

Manage monthly and annual expenses including engaging in annual budget forecasting

Work with the director of plan future initiatives and forecast expenses

9. Manage and report metrics that accurately represent the initiative’s mission and goals

Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or career and technical education (CTE) or recruitment experience in the construction industry

Minimum five years’ experience in digital ad strategy

Google analytics experience required

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong analytical and project management skills

Comfortable working independently and in teams

Ability to work effectively in a multi-task, detail oriented, and deadline-driven environment

Confident and dynamic personality

Proactive, positive team player

Excellent organizational skills

Dependable in attendance and performance

Some travel required

Software Skills:

Microsoft Office 365 Suite

Ability to use WordPress or similar website management systems

Basic knowledge of social media platforms

Salesforce, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite and HTML preferred
