Job Summary:

As a CVOR Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring patients receive exceptional surgical nursing care throughout their journey. From collaborating with the healthcare team to communicating effectively with patients and families, your contributions will be invaluable.

Responsibilities:

Provide emergency and routine assistance in surgical procedures.

Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care.

Be the bridge of communication between the surgical team and the patients' families.

Ensure supplies are organized and readily available for patients.

Oversee patient assessments pre, during, and post-surgery while maintaining a sterile operating environment.

Uphold stringent count procedures to ensure patient safety.

Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.

Actively engage patients and their designated support in postoperative care decisions and rehabilitation processes.

What you bring:

Graduate from an accredited Nursing School: ASN or higher.

Valid RN License for the state or an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.

Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification.

At least 1 year prior experience in Operating Room Nursing.

CVOR (Open Heart) OR experience is an advantage.

Unit Insights:

# of Beds: 2 CVOR rooms

Services: Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular Surgical Cases

Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1

Reason for vacancy: Former RN transitioned to an outpatient center.

Reporting Structure: CVOR Supervisor Administrative Director (Cardiovascular/Neuroscience Services)

Unit Culture: Highly supportive. The Supervisor is hands-on, working alongside the team daily. The Director is very supportive of the Supervisor. It's a tight-knit group where everyone collaborates and pitches in.

Preferred Skills:

Essential: OR experience

Value-added: A collaborative spirit, with a belief that no job is too small and the team's success is everyone's responsibility.

Shift: 0645-1515 with additional on-call requirements

Compensation:

Salary: $28 - $42/hr (depends on experience)

Sign-on Bonus: $15,000

Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000
