If you love high profile and challenging programming projects supporting CMS, Serco has a great opportunity for you! As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for generating a framework, automation scripts, and managing the automation execution. You will be part of a team that works closely with our CMS customer and other teams to deliver automation scripts. We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to automate the existing functionalities and reduce the execution time

This position will primarily be remote; although the candidate may be required to come in the Herndon, VA office on an as needed/requested basis.

In this role, you will:

Collaborate with a cross functional team of architects, product owners, and analysts to understand requirements and architecture to develop robust automation scripts.

Work closely with manual testers to implement enhancements and updates to existing automation solutions.

Be responsible to identify and automate the appropriate Functional and Regression use cases for the user stories in the backlog.

Establish the milestones for the various sprints and releases that would be required to deliver solutions to all the prioritized requirements.

Experience in managing project timeline along with risks, issues, decisions, and changes.

Be responsible for Automating Functional, Regression, and end to end test scenarios.

Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle.

Mentor other engineers.

Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

United States Citizenship

A Masters Degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR a Bachelors degree with 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

Advanced knowledge of Java and/or Python

Good working knowledge in Selenium and Cucumber

Proficient in managing software code utilizing Git, Jenkins, Java, Groovy, and MAVEN

Experienced in software testing and troubleshooting using test-driven development frameworks

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional desired experience and skills:

Familiarity working in a SAFE Agile software development environment

Proficient in utilizing Eclipse IDE for developing and executing automation scripts using Selenium

Capable of working autonomously or collaboratively within teams, providing guidance as necessary to fellow testers

Experienced in software testing and troubleshooting using test-driven development frameworks

Experienced in developing, configuring, and maintaining automated test scripts and environments

Proficient in logging defects, creating defect reports, and ensuring defects correction

Skilled in leveraging Eclipse for efficient debugging and testing of automation scripts

Experienced in integrating automation frameworks with Eclipse for seamless test execution

Proficient in utilizing Eclipse plugins to enhance automation script development and maintenance

Proficient in reviewing business requirements and system specifications to plan test scope

Knowledgeable in SDLC and adept at implementing incremental automation test scripts within Agile team cadence
