As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of complex systems, particularly in the robotics domains (Surgical as well as Mobile Robotics). You will be responsible for developing safety concepts and strategies to identify potential hazards and mitigate risk. You will participate in the system architecture, and define safety strategy, requirements, and targets.

Primary responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with IEC/ISO standards - mainly IEC 61508 & ISO 13849. Interact with Auditors and Notified Bodies during the certification process of the products.

Control and ensure the traceability of the Product Requirements and Test cases during the life cycle of the product.

Participate in the development of Functional Safety Concepts, Technical Safety Concepts, and Product Safety Concepts.

Execute Failure rate and reliability calculations for electronic systems.

Develop, Maintain, and Manage the Safety Case Documentation.

Define Procedures and Techniques to Control Systematic Failures in engineering procedures

Define Procedures for developing Functional Safety Software (coding standards, static analysis, software testing, etc.)

Process and digest legal directives (EU, OSHA, FDA) affecting Functional Safety.

Main Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.

Functional Safety proved experience in Application or End-Product Level in the highly-regulated industry (robotics, automation, automotive, aerospace etc.).

IEC 61508 / ISO 13849 or ISO 26262

Background in electronic design, including familiarity with embedded hardware and software design.

Full Professional Proficiency in English.

Nice-to-Have Requirements:

Experience in Risk Analysis and Failure Analyses: FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and DFA.

Experience in system-level safety calculations: PFH, MTTFd, DC, SFF.

Compliance and legal directives (CE, MD, FDA, etc) are a plus.

Detail and quality-oriented personality.
