Position: Purchasing Assistant
Overview: Since 1977, Echelon Supply and Service has been a leading supplier of hoses and hose assemblies for commercial and military applications throughout the world. Echelon Supply and Service is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Assistant to join our Liverpool, NY based team.
Job Summary: The Purchasing Assistant – Acts in a support role for all purchasing functions of our government purchasing team. This may include managing workload reports with our customers liaison, crafting letters to our government customer in the form of delay notices and modification requests, placing purchase orders, completing RFQ’s, sourcing activities, and open order expediting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the purchasing & expediting of department needs
Manage workload report and keep information current and up to date
Communicate with our customers if we are going to be delinquent on orders
Gather data on incoming material to communicate internally
Organize departmental data to drive department success
Filing and distribution of orders
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Experience in or knowledge of Purchasing preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Excellent organization and time management abilities
Corporate purchasing experience a plus
Excellent & professional communication skills
Motivated individual & eager to learn
Understand & process information quickly
