We are looking for a Truck Loadout Operator (Yard Dog) to support our team at our corporate location in Cincinnati, Ohio.
JOB SUMMARY:
The position is to load the trailers with the finished products by using the company’s terminal truck (yard dog). The Truck Load out Operator will be responsible for loading the trailers from the different buildings in a timely manner. Coordinate the loading sequence with the Shipping Supervisor to minimize down times and complete all the transportation documents correctly.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate company truck to facilitate shipping and receiving operation of bulk good. Driving skills are necessary, however no CDL is required.
Perform safety checks of vehicle
Follow all safety requirements
Operate forklift
Housekeeping; clears out trash boxes and waste and scrap
Completes requires paperwork during and at end of shift
Interaction with tractor trailer drivers
Conduct periodic and scheduled maintenance (hoses, oils, tools)
Monitors inventory
Perform other duties as assigned by Shipping Supervisor and Plant Manager
Assist inbound drivers moving trailers into dock bays as needed
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
Strong attention to detail and ability to organize priorities
Strong mechanical aptitude
Must be able to work well with others and follow directions
Must maintain poise under pressure
Must be able to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to be trained to successfully operate automated control systems
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively on work orders and safety improvement recommendations (reading and witting).
Ability to lift 50 pounds routinely throughout the workday
Ability to troubleshoot system performance related issues to solve basic problems and find a safe effective solution
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Physical ability to safely operator motorized vehicles (tow motor, forklift. railcar mover)
