Material Handler

Summary:

A leading supplier of drilling products around the world. Our plant has high demand and is operating 24/7 to produce these products for our customers. To meet the demand for our products, we provide our Machine Operators with an air-conditioned environment, highly organized and clean 300,000 SQ. ft. fabrication facility, and a strong safety program designed to ensure our team goes home safe to their families after every shift. Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations using a combination of Sit Down Forklift, manual pallet jack or Electric Pallet Truck. Efficiently stack and store customer product in the appropriate area.

Job Duties:

Primary Duties:

Operate relevant machinery to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.

Operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, to load, unload, transport and stack material.

Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped using a combination of Stand Up Forklift, Reach Truck, Cherry Picker Forklift, manual pallet jack or Electric Pallet Truck.

Position lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas.

Read, interpret and understand assembly documentation.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook, etc.)

Capability to use ERP system to execute inventory transaction.

Recognize discrepant materials and request replacements in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Lift, position and secure work piece as needed to turn or balance.

Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Perform routine inspections on vehicles and material handling equipment.

Perform work in a safe efficient manner within established procedures and guidelines.

Maximize yields during job and minimizing scrap all the time.

Comply with all Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency

Related experience

Ability to work overtime as needed

Forklift training and testing may be required

Essential Skills:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple step instructions

Ability to multitask

Ability to pay attention to surroundings

Basic math skills

Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and can be exposed to climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
