Clinics within the Central region that applicants will need to be comfortable commuting to and working at based on business needs:
Downtown at the Heights, MLK, Dale Mabry, Westchase, and Carrollwood
The position will remain open until all vacancies are successfully filled.
What You'll Do:
Work as a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant mid office team member who provides patient care under the direct supervision of the providers.
Responsibilities:
Performs medical assistant procedures assists the providers with patients, including preparing patients and the examination rooms, taking initial medical history for the chart, taking vital signs, and explaining the process to the patients.
Undertake front office and clerical duties such as assisting patients with paperwork, verifying patient demographics and insurance benefits, and performing billing and bookkeeping functions.
Assists provider in all special procedures, including minor surgery, as required.
Outlines care instructions to patients as instructed by provider.
Assists with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by provider.
Updates medical records in accordance with procedures and forms.
Follows HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality and follows principles of medical ethics for medical assistant.
Keeps rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, washes and dries instruments used, and prepares sterilization as required.
Clean wounds, draws labs, electrocardiograms, and applies dressings and splints as directed by provider.
Assists patients any time an urgent need is apparent or as directed by supervisory staff.
Assists in lab procedures under the supervision of provider or which training has been given.
Other duties may consist of notifying patients of lab results, giving vaccines, immunizations and medications prescribed by the doctor; lab work consisting of throat cultures, hematocrits, and urinalysis.
Responsible for proper handling and storage of all medications stored in the office.
Complete required trainings as assigned by the organization.Requirements:

Follows established office routines and policies
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Understanding of ethics of confidentiality/HIPAA
Displays a courteous and friendly attitude to patients and team members
Experience with EPIC strongly preferred
Performs other admin related duties as assigned
Ability to help assist with front office duties as needed/requested
Cross train between front office and mid office responsibilities as needed to ensure a synced clinic
Education and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required
BLS certification, required
Hold a current Certified Medical Assistant certification, required
Experience with EPIC strongly preferred
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional medical environment
Onsite position
Consistent use of technology throughout shift to complete assigned work tasks
Frequent use of working on a computer to complete assigned work tasks
Ability to move supplies and office equipment (up to 20 pds)
Work Schedule and Travel:
Typical Work Schedule: 40-hour work week Sunday through Saturday with 3 x 12-hour shifts and 1x 6-hour shift.
Every other weekend required.
Overtime hour availability based on patient volume and clinic needs
Regional staffing requires travel within region. Travel outside region may be required based on volumes and clinic needs.
Mileage program available for eligible movement.
May require traveling to clinic locations outside preferred region during training
