We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Level One Helpdesk Technician to join our team in Meyersdal, Alberton. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and monitoring IT systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role involves collaborating with vendors, resolving technical issues, maintaining documentation, managing backups, and providing remote support to users.

Responsibilities:

System Management and Monitoring:

Manage and monitor IT systems to ensure performance, reliability, and security.

Implement proactive measures to prevent downtime and optimize system efficiency.

Vendor Collaboration:

Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to procure IT equipment and services.

Work closely with vendors to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

Documentation:

Develop and maintain IT documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

Backup Management:

Manage and monitor backups to ensure data integrity and availability.

Implement backup strategies and perform regular testing to verify effectiveness.

Remote Support:

Assist users with remote support for IT-related issues, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems.

Provide timely and effective solutions to minimize disruptions to business operations.

Application Monitoring:

Monitor applications used for health checks on IT hardware.

Identify and address any issues or anomalies to maintain system health and performance.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a helpdesk or technical support environment.

Technical proficiency in IT systems, networks, and hardware troubleshooting.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures.

Familiarity with IT documentation and best practices.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certification in relevant IT areas (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) is a plus.
