Position Summary:

The primary focus for this position is new sales for the Central region of Virginia for the Small Business segment. The candidate will be developing new and existing broker and quoting platform relationships to increase sales of groups in the 2-300 member market.

The candidate for this position will need to reside in the Central Region of Virginia.

Essential Functions:

Proactively generate new business through existing and new broker/general agency/ consultant houses/quoting platform relationships.

Researches, develops, and maintains favorable relationships with new and existing broker/general agency/consultant houses/quoting platform stakeholders.

Interacts with existing broker/general agency/consultant/quoting platform stakeholders to increase sales of DDVA products.

Oversees relationships, processes, and implementation of all Quoting Platforms.

Provides input and oversees preparation of proposals for key groups.

Makes presentations to key broker/general agency/consultant/quoting platform stakeholders and group decision makers.

Monitors competitor products, sales, and marketing activities.

Maintains a consistent corporate image throughout products, promotional materials, and events.

Follow up on sales leads and developing leads.

Maintain understanding of industry trends that effect target markets.

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or combination of equivalent experience.

Effective organizational and time management skills.

Minimum of three years sales experience, with dental and/or health insurance related field preferred.

Demonstrated sales and marketing techniques.

Effective ability to communicate verbally or in written form effectively with internal and external customers.

Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as well as use sound judgment to make decisions.

Candidate must excel in building and nurturing strategic broker/consultant/general agency/quoting platform relationships to maximize revenue production.

Must be self-motivated and disciplined with a strong work ethic.

Demonstrated experience leading people and getting results through others.

Ability to think and plan strategically for organizational success.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Work environment: The work is limited to the office environment with occasional trips to other office facilities or locations necessitating walking outdoors or driving. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
