Position Summary:
Responsible for all information technology (computer systems, telephone systems, security cameras, point of sale systems, networks, printers) activities within the organization, including but not limited to: network management, technical support, systems integration, research and development, installation, audio/visual systems support and any other relevant activities within the Suburban Inns organization, while following Suburban Inns, IHG, Marriott, and Hilton Standards.
Essential Functions:
Provide users with technical support for IT issues
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
Consult with users, management, vendors, franchises, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements
Assist with evaluating the organization’s technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades and equipment repair or replacement and the cost associated with the recommended improvements.
Maintain a working inventory of all Suburban Inns owned IT equipment per property/location
Assist with configuring, monitoring, and maintaining email applications and virus protection software
Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware and software requirements related to each
Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance repair records
Assist with coordinating with vendors and company personnel to facilitate purchases, upgrades, replacements, etc.
Research new technologies by attending seminars and reading trade articles implement or recommend the implementation of new technologies
Execute the set up of new PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, and shared drives
Support hotel properties with guest wi-fi, franchise network support, guest TV support, and Point of Sale support if applicable (POS & PMS)
Maintain advanced network and server monitoring and backups
Installation and support of security camera systems, cloud services, audio/visual systems
Perform preventative maintenance on network switches, servers, and battery backups on a prescribed interval
Conduct bi-annual preventative maintenance of all technological systems (POS, PMS, laptop, server, PC, tablet, etc.)
Follow all Suburban Inns Processes
Undertake special projects requested by Management
Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance records
Position Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge: Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform arithmetic functions. Requires typing, record keeping, and word processing skills, as well as knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software. Requires the ability to read and interpret construction drawings. Basic knowledge of HTML coding is an asset but not required. Excellent communication skills
Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: This position requires a minimum formal education in Information Technology or similar field, and 1-3 years of related experience.
License, Registration, and/or Certification Required: Valid driver’s license; minimum CCNA or equivalent is preferred but not required for consideration
Work Schedule: Work regularly requires or varies between day, evening, night, holiday, or weekend assignments. Schedule varies according to business demands and needs
Required Travel: Position does require travel to other Suburban Inns properties or client locations.

Appearance: All facial piercings must be approved by management. Hair must be kept well-groomed. All tattoos that are not covered by a work uniform must be approved in writing by management. Any tattoo that is deemed offensive to co-workers, guests, vendors or others in the workplace based on racial, sexual, religious, ethnic, or other characteristics or attributes of a sensitive or legally protected nature are not permitted and must remain covered or concealed at all times. This policy will be administered by the position’s supervisor, without regard to race, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, height, weight, genetics, familial status, veteran status, and other protected characteristics. The CEO has the authority to veto any decision made by the position’s supervisor.
