Talkdesk is seeking an accomplished leader to join our mission as VP of Engineering in India. This is an exciting opportunity to build the team in India from the ground up. The location is TBD within India. The role will be hybrid.

You will:

Lead architecture, development and running of large-scale cloud services

Build and grow teams and leaders through effective hiring, coaching, and development

Deliver on product roadmap, make prioritization decisions, plan and budget resourcing, measure results and iterate.

Continuously improve engineering practices to increase quality, velocity and productivity

Lead, mentor and coach a mix of new and senior engineers and managers running remote teams.

Provide cloud service excellence and implement practices to operate cloud services with high security, performance, uptime and reliability.

Partner with other functions and senior leadership on strategy, technical roadmap, customer engagements and growing business.

Communicate and present clearly to your team, senior leadership and across functions on topics related to product vision, technical plans, deliverables and decisions.

You have:

15+ years of experience building and leading strong engineering organizations, including globally distributed teams.

Proven track record of attracting, inspiring and growing top engineering talent.

Architected and delivered multiple commercially successful large scale enterprise products and cloud services.

Recent hands-on experience building relevant products using object-oriented languages, cloud technologies and modern technology stacks

Champion for modern engineering practices, including agile development, CI/CD and DevOps.

Stellar teamwork and collaboration skills. Proven ability to manage multiple dependencies and drive alignment across functions on strategy and complex technical problems.

Experience leading engineering in hyper-growth environment. Professional and positive approach, highly adaptable in a fast-paced environment, quality and results oriented, and hands-on leader.

Minimum of Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering programs.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Primarily office-environment work, extended periods of sitting or standing, computer-based work. Limited lifting, and equipment usage limited to computer-related equipment (keyboards, mouse, etc.)
