The team will do whatever it takes to go above and beyond industry standard, instead of just the bare minimum requirements.
As the Compliance Director you ensure the effectiveness of the organizations Quality Management System for all operations and as a liaison to client interactions with the sales team. This position will report between the General Manager and the executive leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the development and maintenance of effective quality documents by collaborating with the assigned areas of operation, liaising with other areas/departments for cross functional topics
Be the ‘single point of contact’ for auditors and regulatory inspectors, facilitating and following up on audits and regulatory inspections
Provide leadership and training to operations colleagues in case of audits and inspections
Analyze and discuss trends and changes in regulations and their impact on revenue
Interpret new or updated regulations and guidelines, policies, and procedures as necessary and provide interpretation and consultation to your colleagues and clients regarding these topics
Embody the company’s ‘culture of quality’, identifying and promoting process improvement opportunities in both the operations or QA
Develop training materials and/or deliver training to assure quality awareness all around
Meet agreed-upon timelines and quality objectives
Take responsibility for the QA department’s quality documents and resolution of deviations
Work with the sales and marketing team when needed as a SME during regulation updates and new product development
Requirements:
Background in Chemistry, Biology, or similar field of study coming up through a Quality Management/Audit background
Quality mindset and a big interest for customers, high sense of diplomacy and confidentiality
Track-record of at least 5 years’ experience in quality assurance in Food/CPG/Pharma or similar laboratory setting
Strong affinity with international guidelines and regulations related to cannabinoid/hemp research and the ability to make decisions based on appropriate interpretations
Strong project management (Asana) and people management skills in a matrix environment
Excellent communications skills; often conversing with leadership, external agencies, and clients
