Job Description
Location: Whiteford, Maryland
$5000. sign on bonus (expires 6/30/24)
Purpose:
Independently performs diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and /or dealer-owned
Agricultural Equipment with emphasis on Sprayers and Application equipment. Candidates require a strong
work ethic to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision. Communication skills are required to
clearly articulate aspects of work being performed to a customer in a courteous manner. This is an excellent
opportunity for a self motivated individual interested in working for an established dealership.
Responsibilities:
● Performs advanced diagnostics and repairs on Agricultural equipment, and established Precision Ag
products, Sprayers, Dry box units and other Application units.
● Performs diagnostics and repairs in the field as required.
● Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work
orders and on time submission of information.
● Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
● Conducts and supports customer clinics.
● Mentors Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians.
● Participate in the JDU Training program required for development of skills and knowledge.
● Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.
● Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
● Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
● Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
● Overnight travel may be required at times.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
● Preferably one year of experience performing Ag equipment service repairs.
● Basic understanding of chemicals used in the application industry
● Basic knowledge of application rates and requirements
● Experience with basic computer functions.
● Work independently or in a team environment.
● Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following
Technical Manual procedures.
● Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of Application
equipment.
● Must have an adequate tool set to perform job responsibilities.
● High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
● Valid Driver's license.
● DOT Medical Certification and be able to maintain as required
The pay range for this position is $20-$38 per hour, based on experience.
