Role Designation: Home-Based

Our team is growing, and we are actively looking to hire an Instructional Designer on contract to join our team! Reporting to the Manager, Learning & Development, the Instructional Designer will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing targeted and engaging learning solutions using adult learning methodologies and instructional design methods. This role works collaboratively with Business Stakeholders, Project Teams and SME's to successfully educate and develop our internal client groups.

Accountabilities:

Consult with Business Stakeholders, Project Teams and SMEs at various levels across the organization to provide learning needs analysis, design project management, design, development and effective handover to the business for implementation

Determine the appropriate method of delivery including in-class, e-Learning, job aids, etc. to ensure learning objectives are met

Recommend the appropriate design that best meets the overall needs of the client group

Plan, design and develop learning solutions related to business and developmental needs of our client groups

Leverage various design methodologies - SAM, ADDIE and/or Bloom’s Taxonomy framework to best deliver the appropriate learning experience

Design assessment and evaluation tools that focus on delivering effective and engaging learning experiences and developmental opportunities

Communicate status of projects to facilitate coordination of department resources, capacity, lessons learned and best practices

Qualifications:

Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or related field.

3+ years’ experience of proven experience using systems like: Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Cloud, Graphic Design principles and/or other authoring tools.

3+ years’ experience in applying Adult Learning Principles, ADDIE, SAM, agile project management and other instructional principles and methodologies.

Proven ability to manage learning projects from intake to close.

Experience designing and developing technical learning content.

Previous Insurance industry experience is considered a strong asset.
