Brunel is currently seeking a Senior Learning Advisor to work for a major Canadian operator with business in oil and natural gas, supporting their office in Calgary, AB.

The successful candidate will be responsible for project management partnership of business and training needs through detailed analysis supporting the design, development, and implementation of technical, safety and organizational learning solutions.

Responsibilities:

Oversee external learning vendors to ensure alignment with modern adult learning principles, timelines, and business objectives.

Develop and maintain the vendor management strategy, including processes and procedures.

Identify and evaluate potential vendors based on capabilities, experience, and reputation.

Assess vendor performance and ensure adherence to standards and quality.

Review third-party eLearning design and development for compliance.

Cultivate positive relationships with vendors and stakeholders for collaboration.

Collaborate with internal partners to assess learning needs and strategize solutions.

Communicate regularly with stakeholders, proposing innovative learning solutions.

Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses with operational stakeholders.

Develop learning assessments, initiatives, and plans with a systems thinking approach.

Serve as a liaison between eLearning development and client groups.

Manage project tasks and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.

Implement standard methodologies for consistent, high-quality products and services.

Support internal team members with instructional design tasks.

Adhere to corporate policies and procedures, incorporating best practices.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Adult Learning or related field of study.

Minimum 10 years’ experience designing and delivering technical, safety and organizational learning or related programs.

Oil and Gas (or related) industry experience is an asset.

Project management experience supporting enterprise learning programs; ability to plan, execute, and complete projects with little oversight.

Demonstrated strong customer service skills.

Experience with ADDIE / SAM methodologies.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; including, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Project.

In-depth knowledge of contemporary learning technologies such as: online learning, gaming & simulation, knowledge capture, validation, integration & transfer, and evaluation.

Experience with eLearning content development tools would be considered an asset (Captivate and Articulate 360)

Minimum 5 years’ experience with virtual learning environments (e.g., Zoom, Teams)
