Direct Support Professional DSP

Job Description

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional DSP to join our team! You will support an individual with intellectual disabilities to navigate the community and to engage in community activities of choice.

Responsibilities:

Assist the individual with intellectual disabilities to prepare a list of interesting places he/she will like to go or visit on a daily or weekly basis.

Assist the individual to attend community activities of choice.

Safely transport the individual to and back from the site(s) of the activities.

Communicate and update the outcome of the community outings the to relevant parties

Complete documentation in Therap per agency policy.

Collaborate with clients and families for best outcomes and opportunities

Maintain a healthy and comfortable living environment

Qualifications:

Previous experience in community outings with individuals with intellectual disabilities or other related fields

Compassionate and caring demeanor

Ability to build rapport with the individual with intellectual disabilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Minimum of GED

Schedule: 20 hours a week
