Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology/Med Surg team on night shifts. As an RN in Oncology/Med Surg, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients with cancer diagnoses as well as medical-surgical patients. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in oncology and medical-surgical nursing, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Assess patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs upon admission and throughout their hospital stay, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and guidelines for safe and effective patient care.

Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment, communicating with the healthcare team to adjust care plans and interventions as needed.

Provide education and support to patients and families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques, promoting patient and family empowerment.

Coordinate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.

Document all aspects of patient care accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements, using electronic medical records systems.

Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and organizational policies to maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and staff education activities to promote excellence in nursing practice.

Qualifications:

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, with experience in oncology and medical-surgical nursing preferred.

Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN) preferred.

Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and providing high-quality care to patients with diverse medical needs.

Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care to patients and families facing cancer diagnoses and medical-surgical conditions.
