We are actively looking for a Cloud Governance Engineer focused Automation to help design, implement and maintain public and private cloud governance frameworks and automation solutions to optimize business processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, optimize costs and mitigate risks across various business functions. Your role will involve leveraging technology, data analytics, and process improvement methodologies to drive continuous enhancements in operational governance and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement governance strategies, policies, and procedures to standardize business operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Design and deploy automation solutions to streamline repetitive tasks, workflows, and decision-making processes across business units.

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify service level objectives (SLOs) key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for measuring operational efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.

Utilize data analytics and business intelligence tools to build dashboards and analyze operational data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to service owners

Work closely with IT, Finance and product engineering development teams to identify opportunities for automation, optimization and standardization

Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for governance and automation initiatives

Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor compliance with governance policies, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed

Ability to support on-call as needed

Requirements:

3+ Experience and Proficiency with Python Programming and development of API

3+ years Current Cloud experience with EC2, VPC, S3/GCS, IAM, and AWS/GCP CLI.

Experience establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with a wide variety of business groups (Development, Product, Network Engineering, Voice Engineer, Security, etc.).

Hands-on experience with cloud security controls, identity and access management (IAM), network security, encryption, and data protection mechanisms.

Proficiency in CI/CD programming, scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for cloud governance and infrastructure management.

Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and Okta integration

Proven experience in business operations, process improvement, and governance frameworks.

Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, with the ability to extract insights from large datasets to drive decision-making

Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, security threats, and regulatory requirements to continually improve cloud governance practices

Problem solver willing to come up with creative solutions.

Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) are a plus

This role is fully remote for candidates who reside at least 50 miles away from our San Francisco or San Ramon office locations.

For candidates who reside within 50 miles of our San Francisco or San Ramon locations, this role will be Hybrid.

The US base salary range for this role is below.

$86,500—$161,900 USD
