Job Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accountant in San Jose, California. This role is within the construction industry and will be part of a growing accounting team. A successful candidate will be expected to perform various tasks related to accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and analyze budgets and perform general bookkeeping.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Use Sage 100 for various accounting tasks, training will be provided if necessary.
• Contribute to the team by wearing multiple hats and helping out where necessary.
• Use your knowledge of the construction industry to provide valuable insights and improvements to the accounting process.
• Be open to feedback and use it to improve your work and the company's processes.
• Show your responsibility and curiosity by asking questions and continuously learning.

• Help the company maintain its strong culture by being a positive and respectful team member.• Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an accountant is required.
• Proficiency in accounting software, specifically Sage 100, is essential.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes is mandatory.
• Familiarity with General Accounting principles and procedures is needed.
• Experience in the construction industry would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial.
• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must possess strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be considered a plus.
