Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO)

Location: Camp Blaz, Guam

Shift: Mon – Fri (8:00 – 5:00 pm)

FLSA Classification: Exempt - Salaried

Employment Class: Full-Time Regular

Position Summary:

Potawatomi Support Services (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for Facility Management Service Contract located in an OCONUS military installation (Guam).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide Safety oversight at each project site when work is being performed to implement and administer the contractor's safety program and government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Five (5) years of experience in preparing and enforcing safety programs on contracts of similar size and complexity in the past or

• Three (3) years of experience if the candidate possesses a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or safety and health degree.

Certification Requirements:

• The SSHO shall have completed the OSHA 30-hour construction safety class or equivalent and maintain competency through 24 hours of formal safety and health-related coursework every four years.

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:

• Some walking and standing are required. You may have to lift and carry equipment (i.e. books, tools) weighing approximately 10-15 pounds.

• Most of the work is performed indoors

• Work in the occupation involves making repetitive motions more than 1/3 of the time

• Requires standing for periodically

• Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel and bend

Other Requirements:

• Must provide satisfactory Proof of Legal Residency and proof of U.S. citizenship
