Job Description

Reports incidents on proper forms and informs appropriate supervisory staff regarding incidents within the mandated time frames.

Drives Certitude Group vehicles for the purposes of transporting Certitude Group Members over scheduled routes, to and from job sites and/or field trips, in a safe manner.

Strictly adheres to the Certitude Group confidentiality policy and all State and Federal laws. Information about Certitude Group and its Members will not be discussed, taken from the premises (except for use in transportation books, as specified by the transportation supervisor) or divulged outside the agency without prior supervisory approval.

Acts as an appropriate role model and support in using appropriate language, dress, hygiene, manners and respect.

Works hours as scheduled and reports to work on time, as is scheduled.

Attend staff meetings and trainings required by Certitude Group and DDD contracting authority.

Communicates and interacts with Members on an individual and group basis, promoting individual choice, freedoms, responsibility and support.

Assists passengers in entering and exiting the vehicle, fastening their safety belts, wheelchairs, operating lift gates (as needed) and unloads baggage, wheelchairs, walkers and other items as required. Performs miscellaneous Certitude Group errands, deliveries and pickups, as necessary.

Maintains Certitude Group vehicles; the employee must conduct a pre-travel inspection of the vehicle to ensure that all necessary and required safety equipment, gas and vehicle (to include body, tires, windows, etc.) are in good condition.

The employee must perform a physical (visual) sweep, to ensure that no person is left behind, every time a member is transported.

The employee must obey all vehicle safety laws and traffic signs.
