Your role:

As an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) at CSC, you'll be responsible for managing and optimizing Oracle databases to ensure high availability and performance. Your commitment to delivering a consistent and seamless experience will be instrumental in meeting the database needs of our various business units.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

Managing and optimizing Oracle databases to ensure high availability and performance.

Implementing ITIL best practices in database management and support.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and meet the database needs of various business units.

Monitoring and managing database systems to respond promptly to incidents and mitigate risks.

Performing routine database maintenance and backups to ensure data integrity.

Troubleshooting and resolving database issues to minimize disruptions.

Developing and maintaining documentation related to databases and ITIL processes.

Assisting in the planning and execution of database upgrades and migrations.

Staying current with emerging database technologies and ITIL best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Providing technical expertise and support to internal teams for database-related matters.

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

eight-plus years’ experience in Oracle Database Administration (DBA) and implementing ITIL best practices.

technical background in Oracle databases, ITIL methodologies, and database security practices.

with database protocols, standards, and best practices.

problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

communication skills for collaboration with diverse business units and teams.

certifications in Oracle DBA or ITIL are a plus.

on experience with coding languages PL/SQL, Shell scripting.

Tuning experience with SQL queries on Oracle

on experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager operation, administration, and maintenance.

experience with RMAN Backup and restore operations.

in scripting or automation such as Ansible YAML.

communication skills: ability to demonstrate through voice, text, and presentation.
