Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design engineer who has work experience in electrical systems using AutoCAD software and COMOS software to work with Andritz technologies private limited, Chennai, India.

Key Responsibilities

Creating designs for electrical systems based on engineering specifications and industry standards, using computer software applications such as AutoCAD or COMOS.

Drafting preliminary drawings of electrical systems such as wiring diagrams and floor plans showing where electrical outlets will be placed in a building.

Coordinating with architects and other designers to ensure that designs meet all applicable electrical codes and regulations.

Recommending materials and equipment based on cost, quality, and availability.

Performing calculations and analyses to determine the most effective design for electrical systems.

Creating detailed designs of electrical systems such as lighting, transformers, switches, motors, fuses, breakers, and cabling with trays

Preparing pricing estimates for materials and services needed for a specific project.

Producing necessary design reports and documentation

Electrical codes – knowledge of Electrical regulations and standards, electrical codes is important in the design and manufacture of electrical systems (ISO standards, European standards added advantage)

Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.

Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.

Ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.

Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.

Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.

Design power, lighting, fire alarm, and communications systems for commercial, and industrial projects.

MCC sizing, layout, powerhouse knowledge including PCC, APFC, etc. cost and scheduling.

TECHNICAL SKILLS (knowledge)

University graduated in BE Electrical Engineering

Knowledge on MS office (Word, Excel and PPT).

Knowledge on AutoCAD and COMOS.

Flexibility, to be able working as a team with ANDRITZ colleagues.
