We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Project Manager, Reporting to the Head of Technology GSC, India, this full-time and permanent position is based in Mumbai, India and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Project Management department and its’ growth.

Purpose of Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee our software projects from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management methodologies, particularly in software development, and a proven track record of delivering successful projects on time and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, quality assurance engineers, designers, and stakeholders, to ensure that project goals are met, and quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of software projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and milestones in collaboration with stakeholders.

Develop detailed project plans, resource allocation plans, and risk management strategies.

Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Coordinate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals, priorities, and deliverables.

Facilitate regular project meetings, status updates, and reporting to keep stakeholders informed of project progress and address any issues or risks proactively.

Identify potential risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project timelines or outcomes, and develop mitigation plans accordingly.

Proactively monitor project performance metrics and take corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, and external vendors.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure that project deliverables meet business objectives and user needs.

Manage stakeholder expectations effectively, providing regular updates and seeking feedback to ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.

Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that software products meet quality standards, performance requirements, and user expectations.

Ensure smooth and timely delivery of software releases, coordinating release activities and managing deployment processes.

Strict adherence with Vistra ‘Change Framework’ for Project Management.

Key requirements:

Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as JIRA, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.

PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.

Professional with experience in project and program management

Significant experience in Stakeholder Management, Program Delivery and Functional Specification.

Good communicator at multiple levels and across multiple disciplines

Strong leadership and management skills

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in project management, with a focus on software development projects.
