IO Characterization Engineer (3-8 years’ experience)

Location- Bangalore, Hubli

This role is for a motivated IO Characterization Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to perform electrical characterization and validation of input/output (I/O) circuits for integrated circuits (ICs). You will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and performance of I/O interfaces, guaranteeing reliable data transmission between the chip and external components.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans for characterizing various I/O circuits including:

Buffers

Level shifters

Pads

Clock drivers/receivers

Termination resistors

Perform electrical measurements using test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers) to evaluate key I/O parameters (e.g., voltage levels, timing characteristics, signal integrity)

Analyze test data and compare results to design specifications, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions

Collaborate with design and test engineers to troubleshoot I/O circuit functionality and performance problems

Document test procedures, results, and findings in a clear and concise manner

Maintain and update test equipment calibration records

May involve scripting basic automation for data acquisition and analysis using languages like Python or Matlab

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field

3-5 years of experience in electrical characterization or testing of electronic components

Familiarity with basic analog and digital electronics concepts

Understanding of high-speed I/O interface standards (a plus)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
