Why we need you:

Manage a team of AWS DevOps Engineers as part of the DevOps chapter for the Data Tribe

You will manage and empower the team in their absolute goal of managing and governing the Data Platform resources through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment and promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

You will manage and oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of distributed data platform workloads and applications based on Amazon Web Services (AWS) within the AWS Data Platform in collaboration with Engineering Managers and Product Owners.

You will support the tribe in the implementation of lifecycle data platform solutions and documentation operations to meet the tribe's quality and standards, with a focus on environment excellence and operational support.

Building safe and efficient processes (e.g., CI/CD pipeline), instrumenting code to report relevant metrics, setting the proper alarms for key service metrics, and running operational actions safely and quickly across fleets of resources.

Maintain relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.

You will empower all team members to take ownership of their personal development and to build career paths within the company. You will aim to promote the utilization of your company's learning resources and create a clear up-skilling plan for each team member.

You should also guide and support team members in following the up-skilling plan to ensure they achieve their goals.

Our DevOps team ensures 24/7 coverage of our systems, and as part of the team, you will have to take part in the on-call shift schedule.

Who are we looking for:

You have a proven experience in DevOps or Production Operations leadership role, working on large-scale automation, deployment, and integration projects in an Agile environment.

You have great organizational skills and can plan work independently.

You are an energetic person and a pro-active thinker.

You are flexible and easily adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

You like to assist and demonstrate your mentoring skills.

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You have an academic degree in Computer Science or IT/IS and/or relevant certification.

Skills required:

Prior experience working in Agile environments and ability to lead the team through a process transformation.

Comprehensive knowledge of data processing and modern development concepts and methodologies.

Trained or experienced with the AWS cloud platform or having relevant certification.

Proven ability to collaborate with technical and business teams and communicate effectively across channels.

Deep understanding of Git philosophy and branching strategies.

Expertise in deployment methodologies and CICD tools and operations.

Confirmed competent to deploy and automate Amazon AWS infrastructure within an enterprise environment (Terraform/AWS CDK/CloudFormation).

Able to produce written technical content; experienced in presenting to a mixed-skilled audience.
