Job Responsibilities:

1. Procurement

(A) Dead freight management

Collaborate with shipping carriers to negotiate and establish dead freight contracts, ensuring favourable terms for the company.

Work closely with DF team to ensure the timely fulfilment of contracted dead freight tonnages by working closely with agency network.

Reviewing and addressing issues faced by locations and aligning targets to ensure optimal utilization of Dead Freights.

Achieving divisional targets set for the slot chartering department by aligning with company’s policies and strategies.

Ensure profitability of Dead freights.

Analyse changing scenarios and prepare model ships and present it to the management.

Building long term, trustworthy relationships with vessel operators/ feeders. Collaborating and working closely with them to resolve operational issues.

Prepare and present feasible DF routes by researching on different services.

Driving contract negotiations for slot chartering agreements.

(B) SOC Slot management

Validate and confirm slot rates provided by procurement in charges across key locations, including Persian Gulf, Red Sea, Southeast Asia, and Indian Subcontinent.

Increase rapport with feeder operators to understand market scenarios and provide inputs to the trade desk and negotiate on present dead freights.

Conduct a comprehensive review of vendors, including feeder operators and Main Line Operators (MLOs), to assess their level of support in terms of space and slot allocation.

Engage in negotiations with vendors to secure favourable open slot rates, considering market conditions, operational needs, and cost optimization.

Managing, training, developing, and supervising team members to maintain professional standards and peak knowledge levels related to internal processes, commercial market scenarios and regulatory / statutory requirements.

Developing reporting techniques for tracking performance. Reviewing MIS reports (management information systems) with senior management for developing strategic business plans.

Collaborating with accounts team to assess various elements of costs in liner business to ensure optimal cost management.

Leading discussions for expansion of trade networks by assessing profitability of proposed trade routes.

Managing and monitoring seamless transhipment operations.

Assessing and monitoring inventory and inventory movement at each location. Monitoring inventory sufficiency. Recommending empty repositions to ensure inventory availability at deficit locations.
