We are currently recruiting for Creative Expressive Arts Therapists at Central Regional Hospital.

This position provides one form of Creative Expressive Arts Therapy (art, dance/movement, drama, or music) for adult patients throughout the hospital as assigned.

This position designs and implements Creative Expressive Arts Therapy interventions to meet the patients' treatment goals and documents the patient's response and progress towards the goals identified in the Master Treatment Plan.

This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package.

The normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm with occasional weekends as scheduled; however, flexibility is required based on hospital needs.

This position is deemed mandatory to hospital operations during adverse weather events, which will be discussed in detail during the interview process.

Qualified applicants must document on the application that they possess education/work experience that demonstrates all of the following: Knowledge of the therapeutic creative/expressive arts principles, techniques, and methods.

Ability to evaluate and document patient progress towards goals.

ADA Physical Requirements will be discussed during the interview process.

* Registration with the Art Therapy Credentialing Board as an ATR-P, ATR, or ATR-BC; * Registration with the Dance/Movement Therapy Credentialing Board as a R-DMT or BC-DMT; * Registration with the North American Drama Association as an RDT; or, * Certified with the Certification Board of Music Therapists as a MT-BC.

Bachelor s degree in music therapy which includes a six month internship from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor s degree in music or music education with an equivalency in music therapy which includes a six month internship from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor s degree in one of the creative/expressive arts areas (art, dance, drama, music) from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in all phases of therapeutic programming; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Administering the class: if the creative/expressive arts degree program has a therapeutic equivalency or emphasis, the experience requirements will be waived.The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
