Part-Time, Nail Technology & Manicuring Program Educator - Raritan

Raritan Valley Community College has an anticipated opening of a Part Time Educator in the field of Nail Technology/ Manicuring for the Beauty Professions Department in the Workforce Division.

This position will deliver high quality training in hard and soft skills that prepare students for long-term employment success.

The educator will perpetually improve quality of lessons while ensuring the curriculum remains aligned with the NJ State Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling curriculum, industry and beauty professions department standards.

This role will assess students' progress per industry-validated standards in an accurate, consistent and timely manner.

The educator will also assist the program coordinator with curricular updates and other departmental tasks, attend departmental meetings as well as industry and recruitment events as needed.

Essential Duties: Develop and deliver engaging and high quality instruction in alignment with curriculum Ensure all graduates have met all competencies at the level deemed appropriate to NJ State Board standards.

Consistently present a professional image as aligned with industry standards.

Adapt teaching style to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Ensure proper safety in classroom.

Ensure all students have clear understanding of program requirements Ensure the students are effectively progressing in their program.

Expand additional efforts for lagging students Ensure academic and attendance records are organized, accurate and current.

Maintain any records required by state.

Gather data as needed in a timely fashion.

Keep essential professional certifications current.

Ensure facilities are maintained and willingness to participate in other duties, as assigned.

Ability to demonstrate technical concepts with 100% accuracy.

Requirements: Professional license as required by the state of New Jersey (Cosmetologist or Manicurist). At least 3 years of full-time experience within the industry.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.

Understanding of and commitment to the College's mission of service to the community.

Program desires a team player who can adapt to change and has a passion for helping students find long term success through employment.

Prior experience as a teacher, preferred.

Additional Information: Hourly Rate: $27/hour Application Instructions: As a New Jersey First Act Employer, new employees must establish a primary residence in New Jersey within one year unless an exemption applies.

RVCC's starting rate is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
