We are in the manufacturing industry, situated in PORTAGE, Michigan, and we are seeking an HR Assistant. This role will focus on fostering engagement with all employees and maintaining productive working relationships with them. The HR Assistant will be responsible for supporting all HR department operations to meet designated cultural, professional, and efficiency outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Uphold and update employee files/folders, HRIS documentation, and department documents in a timely, accurate, and orderly manner.

• Preserve the integrity and confidentiality of the HR department, files, records, and documents.

• Manage multiple projects throughout the work week while maintaining high levels of accuracy and completion.

• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and offboarding responsibilities including new hire orientation, HRIS data entry and set-up for all new hires, and the new hires' check-in process.

• Handle external job postings on Indeed.com, including resume review, phone screening, resume escalation to HR Generalist, and posting maintenance.

• Assist in developing and maintaining an applicant tracking system.

• Manage UKG/HRIS employee information updates, changes, or requests.

• Assist in the administration of employee recognition programs.

• Support the planning and preparing of employee events and activities, such as training, company meeting slides, and announcements.

• Maintain and update organizational charts, vacation/PTO accrual process, Employee Education and Reimbursement tracking, and Labor Law postings and documentation.

• Assist with Worker's Compensation documentation and administration when needed.

• Prepare reports and documentation for managers/supervisors when requested.

• Handle timecard, PTO/Vacation, and absence reporting in conjunction with Managers/Supervisors across the company.

• Complete and update direct deposit and tax documents.

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Benefit Functions, Compensation Administration, and Compliance

• Strong knowledge of Employee Relations and Administrative Assistance

• Experience with HRIS - Human Resources Information Systems

• Ability to handle Automated Payroll and familiarity with Kronos Timekeeping System

• Proven experience in Corporate Recruiting

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and integrity

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
