Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled Accountant IV to join their team for a year long contract. The Accountant IV will play a crucial role in overseeing their financial operations and ensuring meticulous financial reporting and analysis. As an Accountant IV, you will be responsible for crafting strategic solutions to complex financial challenges, helping to drive the financial success of their organization.

Responsibilities:

Review and assess accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting and procedural standards.

Approve budgets and periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs.

Design and implement recordkeeping and accounting systems.

Develop and prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel, and oversee their work activities.

Conduct surveys to determine accounting needs and develop solutions to business and financial problems.

Collect and analyze data to identify deficiencies in controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.

Prepare, analyze, and verify annual reports, financial statements, and other records using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.

Skills Required:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking ability.

Advanced proficiency in managing one's time and working independently.

Advanced ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles as needed.

Capability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses.

Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations as related to accounting.

Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other related accounting software.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related financial discipline is required.

An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred.

8-10 years of financial and/or accounting experience is required.
