Job Description

SCOPE OF WORK:

Responsible for all aspects of cash management including accounts payable, cash receipts and bank reconciliation. Works as first point of contact for NHRS local custodial bank to resolve issues. Responsible for multiple aspects of the accounts payable cycle. This includes processing invoices and issuing payments within multiple systems, vendor maintenance and 1099 tracking.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Processes accounts payable for NHRS accounts using multiple internal and external systems.

· Assists in monitoring of the NHRS biennial budget, including accumulating relevant data; researching historical costs; compiling and analyzing expenditure data; and preparing reports.

· Produces weekly in-house checks in NHRS’ business software.

· Monitors and reports all cash flow activities. Prepares monthly reconciliation of NHRS cash account records with the corresponding records of the custodian bank. Establishes and maintains an

independent audit trail of all cash transactions for NHRS and prepares supporting reports for use in the bank account reconciliation.

· Initiates electronic ACH transactions and maintains and reconciles records of federal

withholding tax payments, and files yearly 945.

· Actively participates as a member of the Finance Team in all related team functions, including, but not limited to, direct involvement in various strategic plan initiatives, collaborative problem-

solving, strategic development and peer feedback and support.

· Serves as back up to Finance team members.

· Other appropriate and related duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associates degree from a recognized college or university with a major in accounting or other closely related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience: Three years of experience in banking or financial management. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

License/Certification: Valid driver’s license preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

· This position may require some in-state travel and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including periodic evening hours.

High attention to detail.

Ability to plan and perform diversified duties.

Possession of intermediate technological ability to understand and use multiple software and standard office systems.

Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· This position requires sitting (80%), standing (5%), and walking (15%).

· Requires lifting materials of approximately 20-25 lbs.

· Often requires computer responsibility which involves extensive use of keyboard, mouse and monitor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:

· Dayshift hours primarily, although overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

· Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.

· Work related assignments on weekends are possible.
