The Line Cook is tasked with helping prepare delicious meals according to the menu at our pizza and snack bar, Little Bettie. You will cook dishes that will delight our customers with their taste and timely delivery. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important. In order to help ensure all aspects of this position are performed as expected, measurable metrics will be provided along with regularly scheduled performance reviews. This position reports to the Kitchen Manager.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Cook food in various ovens
Check food while cooking to turn or stir
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Check quality of ingredients
Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning, set-up, and breakdown tasks as assigned
Be fully knowledgeable of and adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
Use POS System as instructed
Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
Be knowledgeable of and comply with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws and ordinances
Communicate and embody WISEACRE brand
Perform other duties as requested by management
Qualifications:
Minimum one year of experience in service industry
Proven experience as cook
Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
Have or obtain ServSafe certification within 30 days of hire
Ability to multi-task while maintaining a calm demeanor
Proficiency in POS System and/or willingness to learn
Ability to work a flexible schedule, working overtime as needed
Physical Demands:
Stands and/or traverses taproom for long periods of time
Use repetitive motions
Lifts up to 60 pounds without assistance
