The Database Administrator creates, maintains, designs, monitors and troubleshoots Acxiom or client databases. They use specific relational database management systems, develop and implement database recovery mechanisms and procedures. And coordinate security measures to safeguard database integrity.
What you will do:
Support multiple database technologies on on-prem, public and private cloud infrastructure for business-critical applications
Production support: troubleshoot, patch, upgrade, report, tune for performance and handle operational issues
Improve and promote operational scalability and standardization
Managing SLA (service agreement) for thousands of customer data sources
Work with monitoring teams to resolve issues related to databases
Review database statuses daily and proactively make updates to prevent issues and outages
Work with ITIL methods and software to work changes and resolve incidents
Participate in On-call rotation
Work with development team to help them create highly reliable data applications
Deploy, configure and maintain of a variety of database and cloud technologies
Setting up backups, replication, load balancing and clustering
Monitor and tuning databases for efficiency and help drive improvements
Diagnose OS, network and storage issues
Coordinating with IT and developers on new product releases
Create tools and processes to automate administration and monitoring
Work with Database and Cloud vendors to resolve challenges as needed
Database Security checks and audits, including compliance related reporting and controls
Developing SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)
Handle Disaster Recovery (switchover/failover) scenarios
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study with a minimum of 5+ years of DBA experience OR Proven track record with a minimum of 7+ years of DBA experience
Oracle experience in the following categories: Oracle Dataguard, RMAN, OEM, PSU application
What will set you apart:
Experience or Certifications in the following database management systems: Oracle, Snowflake, MS SQL Server, MongoDB, Percona MySQL.
Problem-solving skills with RDBMs and various SQL and No-SQL technologies (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, Mongo, Cassandra, Snowflake)
Scripting language Exposure/Experience (Bash, Korn, Perl, Python, Ansible, Chef, Terraform)
Experience with LogicMonitor Enterprise Monitoring, ServiceNow ITIL tool
Understanding of or Certifications in Cloud services like AWS, GCP and MS Azure
Understands the competitive landscape from both a business and technical perspective
