Pay is $17.00-$20.90/hr

Various shifts are available

A Machine Operator is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and operating warehouse equipment.

They are also responsible for cleaning and quality-checking their machinery to ensure everything works as it should.

What makes a good Machine Operator?

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of Machine Operator:

Operators must wear a bump cap at all times while on the line.

Make minor adjustments to machinery as needed.

Supply own or company issued hand tools and have with you on line.

Supply/load trays, flexible packaging or cartons into machines.

Perform necessary assignments on line.

Have successfully gone through Lock Out Tag Out training.

Count product as needed.

Notepad and pen for taking notes are required to be successful in position.

Must be able to observe machine operations at all times.

Place product or scrap into designated color-coded containers.

Visually identify quality or bad product before and after it is packed. Remove/sort unacceptable product.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.s) at all times.

Verbally communicate instructions, problems, etc. to co-workers, supervisors/leads and employees from all departments.

Set up scales, checkweighers, and printers.

Foreign materials found in product or ingredient needs to be reported to a supervisor/lead immediately.

Read scales to check packaging weights and adjust packaging machines accordingly. (Adjust and setup Checkweigher as needed)

Read and understand bagger/cartoner/code date programs. (Adjust and setup printers as needed)

Pre-run equipment prior to startup.

Tear down equipment at shutdown.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS of Machine Operator:

Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs with little assistance.

Push/pull items up to 50lbs with assistance.

Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.

Reaching with arms/hands throughout shift.

Repetitive bending, stooping, and twisting during shift.

Ability to see, hear, and talk.

Ability to work in moderate noise levels; hearing protection is required in all areas.

Walk up to 400 yards to work and break areas.

Physical and mental ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week.

Stand eight to twelve hours or longer per shift.

Ability to distinguish colors and know what they mean.

Ability to work in variable temperatures, weather conditions and wet, humid areas.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.

Ability to work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary.

Will work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and vibration.

Working hours: Various Shifts Available

Skills:

High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Basic math and reading skills.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and at times independently.
