A wonderful couple is looking for a temporary, live-out chef, for their main residence in Greenwich, CT, and secondary residence in NYC. The role starts in May and will tentatively run through August. Relocation is not being offered. The hours will generally be Monday through Friday with flexibility needed for late evenings, ability to work 5 evenings per week, weekends, and holidays. The candidate will be requested to have no additional employment while holding this position due to the time demands and flexibility needed. There will be a 5-day trial period.

The principals are looking for a chef who can support a casual family with a high standard of excellence. The chef should be comfortable preparing healthy and nutritious meals, exhibiting elevated home-style cooking in line with the family's dietary restrictions and leaving breakfast meals as needed.

Day-to-day responsibilities would include a combination of the following: Fulfill role of manager and chef for all food service at the following locations: main residence in Greenwich, CT, a secondary residence in NYC, and the possibility of one or two special trips with the family. Cooking lunch (appx. 12:30pm) and dinner (appx. 7pm) for principals daily as required by schedule. Cooking lunch for staff at residence daily. There are currently 8 staff members. Providing meals for special meetings, evening events, weekend parties, guest stays and holidays at residences. Leaving grab and go options for breakfast and dinner as required. Plan, coordinate, serve and supervise all special events held at the residence from small dinner parties to large indoor and outdoor events. Source, hire and supervise additional staff as needed for events. Responsible for household food inventory including buying, storing, hygiene and sanitation as well as efficient cost management. Enroll in special food preparation classes as requested by employer to learn new cooking techniques. Coordinate weekly food service schedule with multiple offices using Mac and Outlook applications/calendar management. Ongoing sourcing of healthy foods techniques, local farm to table purveyors. Record favorite meals of the principals and work continuously on new recipes and repertoire. Report expenses and approvals through Concur systems. Work well as a member of a residence team.

In order to be considered for this role, the candidate must have a least 4 years of experience in a comparable role (in-residence chef). Their ideal candidate will be comfortable preparing simple, healthy meals as well as high-end cuisine if needed, has a low or no ego, is a non-smoker (due to principals allergies), and will be open to feedback and improvements overall. An upbeat and transparent personality is a must as is the ability to interface directly with high profile guests. The candidate will need to have knowledge of how to work on an iPhone and Mac platforms as well as Outlook/PC platforms. It's imperative the candidate be able to hold the utmost discretion and confidentiality standards and have flexibility in schedule as the hours vary greatly. The candidate should be established locally with working knowledge of best in class purveyors and markets.
