Job Summary

The position will be responsible for supporting the Public Relations Director in the development of internal and external corporate communications for domestic and international employees, business and media audiences. The position will support PR and Marketing with communications materials to effectively represent the company’s products and services to members of the media, customers, and prospects, and assist in any corporate projects as needed.

The Associate, Public Relations will also support celebrity and VIP opportunities, as well as facilitate administrative tasks for the department.

Key Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Global Communications

Work with PR Director to draft, support and facilitate global markets’ press requests, including story angles, press release, image requests and photo shoots to ensure the Harry Winston brand is consistently positioned in accordance with corporate guidelines.

Advise worldwide markets on best-practices, annual press plans and editorial outreach ideas.

Facilitate all international press requests (press materials, images, and photo shoots).

Maintain calendar of worldwide press launches, working with Marketing, Creative, Merchandise Planning and Design to ensure product availability and scheduling.

Develop content and update internal intranet with PR news – new store openings, red carpet dressing, etc.

Celebrity

Support Director of Public Relations with VIP/celebrity dressing opportunities.

Develop merchandise list and coordinate product with Merchandise Planning, for celebrity opportunities.

Liaise with celebrity stylists on the selection of product and attend celebrity/VIP fittings and appointments.

Update and maintain global media distribution contact list.

Work with Digital Team surrounding celebrity placements for social media.

Press Analysis

Compile global press reports and manage monthly analysis.

Monitor and report on competitor activities within.

General

Manage departmental invoices and budgets.

Job Qualifications

Minimum of three years’ experience in Luxury brand Public Relations (jewelry, watches, fashion, beauty).

Preferably a degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.

Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Strategic thinking and attention to details.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-departmentally.

Work independently and proactively to reach department goals.

Ability to influence decision-makers and work with VIPs.

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Flexible schedule to allow for calls with global teams.

Some travel required.
