The Role

We are currently seeking a Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, to become a member of Neudesic’s Cloud Infrastructure Team. The ideal candidate has senior level knowledge and experience in designing, migrating, and implementing complex hosting solutions and migrations. The position is customer facing and will work closely with Product Owners, Applications Owners, Network and Security team to deliver the best solution for large scale infrastructure design and application migrations. Candidates should possess solid knowledge in public and hybrid cloud models. The engineer needs to have the ability to provide insight into the workloads and their dependencies to map out the best strategy to migrate workloads to Azure. This will include determining the ideal groups of applications and defining a roadmap to move to the cloud.

Responsibilities:

Deploy highly available, scalable and secure cloud infrastructure with a focus on Azure using industry best practices

Define and implement infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques to migrate workloads into Azure

Deploy networking solutions by using the Azure Portal and other methods, including PowerShell, Azure Command-Line Interface (CLI),

Ability to design Azure based and hybrid networking solutions across multiple sites, locations, subscriptions, and virtual networks

Design and develop automation to support continuous delivery and continuous integration process

Work closely with the Development and Operations teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated deployment of infrastructure

Contribute and lead client pre-sales engagements

Qualifications:

7+ years’ experience Azure Cloud infrastructure experience (Azure Infrastructure as Code)

Clear and expert understanding of routing and route tables as it relates to Azure

Expert in Azure governance, Express Route, Site Recovery, S2S VPN devices, Azure Monitor, RBAC, virtual network and subscription peering

IAM – users/groups/service accounts and their differences

Networking and VPCs, concepts of public vs. private IPs

Azure Virtual Machines & Azure Foundations

Security, ACLs, Azure firewalls

Automation; VM setup/teardown, scripting, platform tools (Azure Resource Manager), exposure to 3rd party tool like Terraform or Cloud Foundry useful

Logging and monitoring of cloud deployments

Container experience preferred, Kubernetes ideal

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience

Be a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve complex Cloud Infrastructure and Networking challenges

AZ-700/500 certification as a bonus

Ability to travel up to 25%

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $155,000 and $180,000. The salary range may be different if the successful employee is in a different state. This position is also eligible for performance bonuses. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
