Position: Chief Estimator

Description:

Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company is a fast-growing commercial construction firm based in Raleigh, NC. We are seeking a Chief Estimator to lead and mentor our estimating team. Preconstruction Manager will report directly to our President and Operations Manager.

As a Chief Estimator at Cooper Tacia your duties will include

Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor pre-construction engineers and coordinators, managing multiple estimating projects with a focus on quality control and team coordination.

Develop and implement bid strategies, including review of proposal specifications and negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with profitability and MWBE requirements.

Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates, bid proposal packages, and project budgets, leveraging insights from site visits, pre-bid meetings, and collaboration with project teams.

Direct the execution of design-build pursuits, target value delivery, and proposal presentations, fostering continuous improvement through post-bid reviews.

Maintain high ethical standards, establishing cost monitoring, reporting systems, and ensuring alignment of estimates with project schedules.

Guide the development and use of estimating software, processes, and data management, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all projects.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business, or related field, coupled with 7-10+ years of commercial preconstruction estimating experience.

Strong problem-solving abilities with a solution-oriented approach and excellent communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experienced with industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Heavy Bid, Sage, OST, Procore, Blue Beam).

Demonstrated skills in reading and interpreting bid documents and drawings, with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to effectively plan, collaborate, and resolve conflicts, maintaining a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: $130K-155K Per year total compensation package (base salary + bonus package)
