Blacklock Financial are partnered with an A&D advisory firm who are looking to add an Associate to their technical team.

Position Summary
The Associate will be a key member of the A&D (Acquisitions & Divestitures) Team and work closely with the firm's finance team. This position will provide advanced engineering technical support for the A&D Team and requires strong proficiency in reservoir engineering practices, geological understanding of the major US Lower 48 basins, and economic principles in order to provide services for a variety of clients within the energy sector.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical diligence support and inputs for modelling efforts
Identification and understanding of key engineering & geological drivers for well performance, PDP forecasting, type curve development, well spacing patterns, and base / upside zones & inventory
Ability to evaluate and analyse key well design & completion trends at both the operator and basin level using both public & private data
Determination of key technical and financial assumptions for upstream & midstream assets to drive valuation and economic modelling
Ability to build, run, sensitise, and maintain economic databases (e.g. Aries, PhdWin, etc.) containing detailed technical information
Prepare both internal and external technical materials to be used to for pitch books, mandates, and Confidential Information Memorandums / data room presentations
Contribution and participation in both internal and external presentations
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering
4 years of investment banking A&D / Technical experience; OR 7 years of technical experience in Reservoir Engineering at an Oil & Gas Operator
Operations / Production / Business Development experience at an Operator is a plus
Masters or advanced degree in Engineering or MBA a plus, but not essential
Technical knowledge and expertise across the Lower 48 and emerging plays within the oil and gas industry
Software Skills: Spotfire, Aries, PHDWin, Microsoft Office, Enverus (PRISM)
