Summary:

Insight Global is looking to hire a Software Systems Engineer to support an international, high-tech company in San Diego. You will join the Electrical, Safety, and Software team to test and validate/verify code on computer systems and associated hardware (not a software development role creating the code yourself). This role is largely supporting highly technical computer systems, machine control, and system software infrastructure. Cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Integration, Development & Engineering) are constantly iterating and applying their code to this company's highly technical machine - as a result, this role is heavy on escalation support (50% of day-to-day) using root cause analysis/troubleshooting skills and hardware/software testing (25% of day-to-day). Testing of provided code will require initial review of software release documents, creating test plans, secure system test time, assembly of test hardware, and validation testing to qualify and support code integration to electrical infrastructure and computer systems software. Lastly, you will recommend improvements to projects aligned with safety, reliability, availability, manufacturability, and serviceability of the highly technical machine. This company is headquartered in Europe so earlier calls and schedule flexibilty is required as some of the code being tested is developed originally by EU teams. While not required, travel to the EU/domestically may arise during the engagement.
