POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for reconciling and reporting financial activity relating to various accounting areas such as intercompany transactions, reservation/marketing activity, revenue accruals, payroll and related tax transactions, debt, miscellaneous cash transactions, workers compensation/general liability insurance, lease accounting, legal accruals, revenue allocations, franchise reporting, ad hoc reports analysis of general ledger accounts, and special projects.

The incumbent reports to the Manager of Financial Accounting & Reporting and plays a critical role in ensuring that the analysis and accounting necessary to maintain the financial statements and accounting records are completed accurately and efficiently.

Success in the role requires excellent written and verbal communication with members of the accounting team and other business functions to understand and document the business dynamics that are reflected in the accounting results.

* Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations including data analysis in conjunction with the month end close process * Maintain general ledger accounts by posting, verifying, and resolving discrepancies * Convert accounting terms to understandable business explanations both written and verbally * Support department leadership as a back-up as needed including coordinating month end close process * Drive continuous improvement on processes and tools by championing efforts cross-functionally and within the team MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: * 2+ years of experience in general accounting or audit with strong organization skills and ability to support multiple workstreams * Advanced proficiency with ERP and productivity tools (Oracle, Excel, PowerPoint) * Results driven with a strong continuous improvement mindset and desire to improve skillset in oneself and amongst teammates * Preferred: MBA / CPA or CPA-eligible
