Summary

The Sourcing Lean Leader will act as an agent of change for process improvement and Lean implementation and practices for the GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy's Sourcing team. The Lean Leader will drive the lean transformation, furthering a culture focused on continuous improvement by providing lean education, training, and support to the sourcing teams in their efforts to incorporate the lean philosophy and lean tools within the current processes.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

As the Nuclear Sourcing Lean Leader you will:

Coach and develop leaders from the front line to the leadership team on performing lean value streams through leadership culture and behavior changes, process operating rhythm, and method changes

Coach key contributors on developing a highly effective Daily Management process focused on management through mission control, creation of flow, adherence to standard work, and solid implementation of rigorous problem solving

Work with the entire sourcing organization to transform to a culture of significant focus on value for the customer, and rigorous continuous improvement

Work with the sourcing organization to develop value stream maps that establish future state targets on elimination of non-value added waste in product, material, and information flow

Work with the sourcing leadership team to develop strategies and plans within the transformation plan that focus on the appropriate levers to maximize margin expansion and cash improvement.

Works with the sourcing leadership team to define and educate the workforce on a lean transformation plan

Works with the site training department to develop and deliver programs to teach the workforce on lean manufacturing tools and concepts such as problem solving, A3/A4 management, leader as coach, Kanban, Kaizen, Value Stream mapping, visual management, lean conversion and pull systems.

Work with key suppliers and strategic partners to perform kaizen activities within the supply chain to drive value for our customers

Develop and implement enhanced visual management to increase transparency, performance and delivery of customer value

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree - Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or relatable degree.

Minimum 7 years of professional experience in a supply chain, sourcing, technical, manufacturing, operations or business/finance role

Eligibility Requirements

Less than 20% travel may be required for role

The required work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC

Relocation to Wilmington, NC may be required - this can be discussed with your recruiter to ensure we find the right fit for your needs!

Desired Characteristics:

Masters of Science in - Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or relatable degree.

Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification

Strong proficiency in MRP / ERP / Pull systems: able to translate materials processes into ERP and pull environments

High proficiency in Kaizen activity and lean toolset

Strong problem solving utilizing the DMAIC process

Excellent team facilitation skills

Extensive Gemba based continuous improvement tools/techniques

Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior management and production teams

Ability to assign priorities in a fast paced and changing environment.

Able to mentor and facilitate lean culture change in an environment with varying acceptance

Ability to coach complex and diverse groups

Strong organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
