Urgent Care Veterinarian Full-Time Thrive San Marcos Thrive San Marcos, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is now hiring Urgent Care Veterinarian to join our team.

Our new hospital is now open in San Marcos, California.

Who we are At Thrive San Marcos we are excited to have opened our new urgent care location to support pet parents and ER hospitals in San Marcos, California.

This is a fantastic opportunity for either a general practitioner who wants to see more complicated cases OR for an emergency veterinarian who is looking for more routine hours and a less hectic workload.

Our goal is to relieve pressure from our local and busy ER hospitals, help our referring veterinary community, and provide exceptional service to pet parents.

In this position you will make a positive impact on your patients, clients, and colleagues' lives!

Our Focus: * Minor emergencies that are not life-threatening such as lacerations, limping/painful pets, hypersensitivity reactions, vomiting and/or diarrhea without significant dehydration, ear infections causing discomfort, urinary tract infections, non-obstructed FLUTD/FUS patients, etc.

* Cases that are referred to by general practice veterinarians because they are unable to see them in a timely manner and fit within the scope of care we provide.

New Urgent Care provides walk-in, outpatient care for pets with non-life-threatening conditions that still need to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

The Urgent Care department has been designed to meet a key need in our community and hospital.

We aim to provide efficient, compassionate care to patients with non-critical conditions so that they receive great care without the wait!

In the Urgent Care department, we offer walk ins and appointments for varies conditions.

Patients with life threatening emergencies, or those that need to be hospitalized are seen by our emergency department, leaving our Urgent Care Doctor time to focus on delivering quality outpatient care to their patients and clients.

We stay in close contact with the primary veterinarians to ensure those patients return for ongoing care with their family vet.

Experience & Skills Requirements * Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required.

* State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date.

* Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.
